Welcome to Yorkshire Rose Cycling Club, Sheffield’s newest and fastest growing women’s cycling club. Founded in May 2016 by Jackie Kirkman and Clare Froggatt, the club offers women a fun and supportive network to develop their cycling, get fit, make new friends and (most importantly) eat cake!
Members can join a range of rides that leave from various start points around Sheffield, and are carefully planned to include everyone from the gentlest to the hardiest riders in our 3 ride types (Green, Amber & Red – see ‘Rides Types’ under the ‘Rides’ menu for details). We welcome prospective members to join us for a ride or two, to meet our members and ask any questions you may have about the club. If you are not currently cycling regularly then we suggest you initially join a ‘green’ ride, or if you are unsure of the most suitable ride please contact us and we’ll be happy to help. We also team up with Breeze to offer super steady & shorter rides.
Yorkshire Rose CC has grown rapidly to almost 100 members who meet regularly for rides and social events. Club rides are on Saturdays & Sundays all year round, with 3 grades of rides to suit all from the most steady to more challenging routes. Members often organise ad-hoc midweek rides too.
We host a lively members’ Facebook page, hold monthly members’ meetings and social events – and we know the best cafes around! Every ride includes the all important cafe/cake stop, and the emphasis is on a supportive ride where no one is left behind.
Our sponsors, The Giant Store Sheffield offer a 10% discount on all purchases to YRCC club members and support us with regular workshops and classes. They also stock some items of our fab kit (design created by Clare Froggatt, founder member)… so go along and have a look, and chat to Lisa at The Giant Store Sheffield about other benefits of being a member of this friendly inclusive cycling club.
YRCC is supported by a committee who aim to develop the club, further increase the membership & promote women’s cycling in Sheffield. We welcome new members all year round, and committee members are elected at our AGM.
